Hearing aid batteries are a four-size family — and the number on the pack (10, 13, 312, 675) is the size, not the brand. This is the size chart that turns “which battery do I need?” into a thirty-second answer.
The hearing aid battery size chart
| Size | Dimensions | Typical capacity | Crossover names | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A10 | 5.8 × 3.6 mm | ~90 mAh | PR70 · 10A · P10 | Smallest in-the-canal (CIC) instruments |
| A13 | 7.9 × 5.4 mm | ~310 mAh | PR48 · 13A | Powerful behind-the-ear (BTE) instruments |
| A312 | 7.9 × 3.6 mm | ~180 mAh | PR41 · 312A | Receiver-in-canal (RIC) instruments |
| A675 | 11.6 × 5.4 mm | ~620 mAh | PR44 · 675A | Power BTE with streaming |
All four run at 1.4V and are zinc-air cells — the tab seals the air hole until you are ready to use the cell.
How long does each size last?
| Size | Typical listening time |
|---|---|
| A10 | 3–7 days |
| A312 | 1–2 weeks |
| A13 | ~2 weeks |
| A675 | 2–3 weeks |
Life depends on the instrument’s streaming, the volume and the environment — the numbers above are the realistic range, not the marketing maximum. If your battery dies in two days, check streaming settings before changing size.
The matching rule
Match the printed size on your current cell, not the instrument model. The crossover names — PR70 / 10A / P10 for A10, PR48 / 13A for A13, PR41 / 312A for A312, PR44 / 675A for A675 — name the same cell, so any of them is a correct reference.
Note: “A10 battery” also appears on unrelated consumer products (phones, vacuums). Hearing aid cells are the zinc-air 1.4V type — the stamped PR number is the safe guide. See A10 hearing aid battery →.
Buying tips for distributors
- Stock the four sizes proportionally: A13 and A312 dominate, A675 follows, A10 is the niche.
- 6 pcs per pack is the standard blister; 100 pcs per box (A675: 60).
- The tab starts the clock — shelf life is measured with the tab intact, so keep stock sealed and rotate by production date.
