AAA is the second most-stocked consumer battery size in the world — and for wholesalers it is the classic repeat-purchase SKU: small, light, and sold by the pallet. This guide covers the numbers that matter when you buy AAA batteries wholesale from a factory: the real MOQ, how pricing tiers work, what arrives in each box, and which documents ship with the goods.

What “wholesale” actually means here

We ship AAA batteries from our own campus in Guangzhou / Dongguan. There is no distributor layer and no price list game — you talk to the factory, and the factory quotes per carton:

Item Standard wholesale
MOQ 50 cartons (≈ US$2,000)
Pricing basis Per carton, EXW / FOB / DDP
Mixed tiers Allowed — combine alkaline, heavy duty and carbon zinc in one order
Sampling 3–5 working days, sample packs available
Mass production 15–25 days incl. packaging and QC

Wholesale means buying the retail-ready pack, not the raw cell: every box that leaves here is cartonised, labelled and documented for the destination market.

The three AAA chemistry tiers (and why price differs)

AAA comes in three tiers in one factory — same 10.4 × 44.5 mm size, entirely different capacity and cost:

Tier Model Typical capacity Best for Price position
Ultra alkaline LR03 800–1,200 mAh High-drain devices, retail premium shelves Highest
Heavy duty R03P ~500–800 mAh Remotes, mid-price retail, promotions Mid
Carbon zinc R03 ~300–400 mAh Clocks, value packs, price-sensitive markets Lowest

Wholesale margins usually live in the mix: standard rack order = one big alkaline line plus a value tier to serve both price points.

Wholesale formats we ship (LR03 / R03P / R03)

Model Pack Pcs/box Carton
LR03 / 2BP 2 pcs blister 24 packs 50 cartons
LR03 / 4BP 4 pcs blister 48 packs 50 cartons
LR03 / 8PCS 8 pcs shrink 48 packs 50 cartons
R03P / 2-4BP 2–4 pcs blister 24–48 packs 50 cartons
R03 / 2–8S 2–8 pcs shrink 40 packs 50 cartons

Full carton counts and gross weights are in the AAA battery packing table — the same sheet our trade team quotes from.

Private label on wholesale orders

Wholesale does not have to mean plain. From 50 cartons you can run the same cells under your brand: shrink wrap, blister or paper cards with your artwork, bilingual warning marks, and barcodes checked by our resident designers. If you are not ready for artwork yet, we ship our own white-label line while your design is approved.

Documents that ship with every wholesale order

  • CE + RoHS declarations for EU markets
  • IEC 60086 test report
  • UN38.3 + MSDS for lithium-exports; for non-lithium, the battery exemption letter where relevant
  • 0% Hg statement (alkaline button and cylindrical lines)
  • Packing list / commercial invoice for customs
  • BSCI & ISO9001 audit copies for retailer onboarding files

Lead time and reorder rhythm

First order: 15–25 days after sample approval and deposit. Reorders on an open production slot are faster — customers on an annual stocking agreement get regular materials in 10–14 days. We recommend a 3-month rolling forecast for the core SKUs so the line can hold your carton colour in buffer.

Answers wholesale buyers ask

Can I get a better price than 50 cartons? Yes — pricing steps down at ~100, ~500 and container levels. Ask the trade team for the volume ladder before you commit.

Do you support drop shipping / cross-dock? We ship EXW, FOB or DDP to your destination port or warehouse; for EU and US retail programmes we can arrange the standard export document set for your forwarder.

What about samples before committing? Sample packs ship in 3–5 working days — usually 4 pcs per pack across the three tiers, so you can test capacity and shelf appearance in your own store.

Wholesale AAA batteries start on the AAA product page; carton-level pricing and shipping terms are on the wholesale page, or just ask the factory for a quote.
